I have to admit, I am a cover freak. If the cover isn't appealing, I pass it up. But somehow, I was able to look past the cover because the synopsis pulled me in enough to where I NEEDED to know this story...and I am SO happy I had the opportunity to get to know these characters!! I have read many books that made me emotional (and I may have cried at the end of a book or two ;)), but I have NEVER cried in the second chapter!!! That's how deep this story is. I cried for Rhae like she was me! The heartache this girl goes through...it's almost unbearable. Just one thing after another it seems. She lost her soul mate very suddenly, and it seems the punches just keep coming after that. He has betrayed her in the biggest way, but he's dead....she can't be angry at him, right? She has to deal with that turmoil, but luckily, she has the best support system a girl can ask for! She has really great friends and her sisters that are very blunt, but love her unconditionally. Finally she has a moment where she tells herself that SHE did not die...Ryan did....so she gives herself permission to start moving on....and on that same day, she meets Cade. Cade has issues of his own, but feels the need to help put Rhae's heart back together. I love how Cade is there for her, but doesn't force her into to anything and doesn't label their relationship, he really just want to BE there. I did feel that the story got a little crazy with the drama and that maybe it overshadowed the beautiful love story that was happening, but I had grown to love these characters so much that it didn't take my mind too far away from the bigger picture. Y'all should really give this book a try! I promise you won't regret it!!
